penetrating vs. perforating gunshot wound
Explanation:
Background on Gunshot Wounds

Gunshot wounds can be either penetrating or perforating.
In a penetrating wound, the bullet enters an object and remains inside, while in a perforating wound, the bullet passes completely through the object.
In some cases, the wound can be both penetrating and perforating, in that it penetrates some part of the body, such as the head, but perforates certain parts, such as the skull or brain.

"ustrelna vs. prostrelna rana" is not about any injury, it's specifically a gunshot wound

penetrating vs perforating injury

Explanation:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Penetrating_trauma

Notes to answerer
Asker: Tako sam i mislila jer ustrelnu ranu doktori nazivaju i penetranta rana, ako sam dobro shvatila.

neutral  Nikola Bijelić, MD, PhD: S jedne strane injury nije dovoljno precizno, a s druge strane perforatinfg injury može npr. značiti i ubodna rana abdomena s perforacijom crijeva, a bez izlazne rane.
