Yes, that's true, but it still leaves the problem of "it was because of... that..." which simply doesn't fi with what come next; however, now we know it is a transcription, we can see why — this type of 'change of direction in mid-stream' is very common in spoken language, and usually passes unnoticed until written down!

My first reaction was that there's a "to" missing:
"...that was just as quickly TO lead to the destruction of my business."
This then feels quite natural.

Others have already pointed out one error, but in fact there must be several; although the general sense seems to be clear anyway, I would be very wary; could this perhaps be a verbatim transcription of speech?

"it was because of my ego and lack of willingness to accept instruction that was just as quickly lead to the destruction of my business"

1) "was ...lead" isn't grammatical; it might have been intended to be "led to" or perhaps, given the way it has been worded "would lead to"

2) In any case, the sentence as it stands doesn't hold together, as it starts "it was because of...", which we would expect to be followed by "...that my business was destroyed" etc. "because of... that would just as quickly lead to..." is simply ungrammatical!

So either there have been some erros introduced by editing, or as I said, perhaps this was trasnscribed speech, with the speaker tumbing the ideas out without taking the time to arrange them grammatically.
