Une des questions précédentes semble indiquer qu'il s'agit de la transcription d'une communication orale (la répétition / rephrasage "would not have been business" "would not have been a good business decision":

"to incur those types of discount on top of that ongoing for thousands of more tons would
not have been business -- would not have been a good business decision".

Ne pourrait-on pas envisager une erreur de transcription qui aiderait un tout petit peu : "select to" ou "elect to" au lieu de "selective" :

should not select to release containers
as it is construed as taking only
what potential contact/content demands/dictates to consumer ...

neutral  Tony M: I don't think 'select to release' actually makes any more sense here; 'selective release of containers' (or 'release containers selectively') makes sense in itself / Acceptable in the oral context; typical EN telegraphing!
