Explanation:
This can have two apparently rather different meanings, but probably related in essence. One is "reasons", but another very common one is "means," as in,

"محض اسباب پر بھروسہ کرنا درست نہیں، دعا بھی شامل حال رہنی چاہیے"
"It isn't right to depend merely on (worldly) means; prayers should also be part of the effort."

In my experience, اسباب is generally used in religious terminology to indicate 'worldly means.'
