Explanation:
beide Ausdrücke haben einen wortwörtlichen und einen übertragenen Sinn:

"toccare con mano" bedeutet wortwörtlich "anfassen, mit der Hand berühren", aber im übertragenen Sinn auch "selber erleben".

"mettere le mani in pasta" bedeutet wortwörtlich "die Hände in den Teig senken/den Teig kneten", aber im übertragenen Sinn "mitbestimmen wollen, sich einmischen, usw."

Daher habe ich hinzugefügt "im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes", um aufs Wortspiel hinzudeuten :-)
