The joystick has two functions: as a “jolly” when the light flashes, since by moving it in any direction, table movement is activated until the pre-set position selected on the touch screen is reached; when the light is off and when the combined movement active (button @@ selected) rotation of the X-ray tube around the column’s vertical axis is activated.

Explanation:
Американцы называют тележку-каталку типа нашей Кравчучки (если вы, конечно, в курсе) "джолли".
Из контекста трудно уловить функциональное назначение этого джойстика, но смысл, думаю, такой.

Это, конечно, мудрое решение. Если не понятно, как назвать, - назови непонятно ;) Но не очень отражает суть дела.

Долли (Кравчучка) - это вертикальная тележка (на которой бабушки возят с базара сумки, а на более мощных модификациях - грузчики всякие-разные грузы) с подставкой и поворотной платформой на колесиках. Она легко наклоняется на любой угол, поворачивается, и т.д.

Спросите любого американца.

Уверен, что этот джойстик чем-то похож на нее, - отсюда и название

Well, actually this my "тележка" is called "dolly". But I guess, that in original text "Jolly" is a combination of "JOystick" & "doLLY" = JOLLY :)

Asker: Спасибо! Но речь идет именно о джойстике, который расположен на консоли и служит для управления перемещениями деки стола. Я пока склоняюсь к термину "универсальный джойстик", пока не придумал оптимальную замену.
