¿Frotar su pelo y piel del hocico?

• Field Observation: The Consultant was able to observe trap placement, trap setting, and the capture and handing of a male spiny rat (Proechimys semispinosus) during a rescue operation. The rat has been in the trap long enough ***to rub hair and skin away from its muzzle***. No medical attention was given to the animal. Although the team placed the trap in a cloth bag to reduce stress to the animal, the trap was carried vertically rather than horizontally, forcing the animal into a space too small for its size. The animal was measured and photographed while in the trap in order to reduce handling stress. However, this process took place in a sunny location rather than in the shade where it would have been cooler for the animal. Some of traps that were set had bait in the front of the trap – rather than at the back in a manner that would require the animal to crawl completely into the trap and trigger its closure. The traps were inspected for damage at the end of the rescue process. However, it was not clear if the traps were going to be cleaned/sterilized before re-use.
