disagree  Tony M: I think we're actually talking here about the Ethernet connection itself, rather than the actual cable; but even so, 'toughened' is not a word we would usually use in this context, IMHO. / Yes, but not the same thing.

  -> In techncial language, they have two quite distinct meanings, and are not interchangeable, as they might be in layman's language. I worked for years in the field of 'hardening'.
