Ministry for Industry, Post & Telecommunications, and Tourism Explanation: P & T = Postes et Télégraphes (formerly PTT) In fact, even back when the name of this ministry was current, I think 'Telecommunications' would have been applicable, since it was for a long time telegraph AND telephone! -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 21 mins (2012-06-15 14:34:13 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- As Richard has kindly pointed out for us, the name of this Ministry was sufficiently recent for it to have actually been 'telecommunications' even in FR. |
