Hola colegas:
Quisiera saber qué significa la abreviatura "ex." en la siguiente frase.

"sautéed vegetables (ex. spinach or broccoli)"

Pensé que era "excepto", pero quizá sea "por ejemplo"... Y el meaning es totalmente opuesto. ¿Qué opinan? No encuentro mucha referencia en la Web. Y lamentablemente, no tengo más contexto. Es un plan alimenticio para embarazadas y las comidas figuran como ítems.

Como bien dices, "ex." se utiliza en ocasiones en ambos sentidos, pero aquí, por el contexto, creo que significa "for example". No hay por qué excluir las espinacas y el brócoli/brécol de la dieta de las mujeres embarazadas; al contrario:

"The main foods that are included for any diet during pregnancy include iron rich foods like spinach and broccoli"

Por supuesto, "ex." no es la abreviatura estándar de "for example"; se emplea normalmente "e.g.". Sin embargo, se encuentra a veces:
