A LAMENTAÇÃO DO DR. FAUSTO:
HUMANISMO E PARADOXO NA MODERNIDADE EM CRISE – OBSERVAÇÕES A PARTIR DO FAUSTO DE GOETHE E DO DR. FAUSTO DE THOMAS MANN

Esse trabalho revisita dois momentos críticos ***do pacto hermenêutico pela busca de sentido*** através do mito de Fausto, nas obras clássicas de Johannn Wolfgang Goethe (1808) e de Thomas Mann (1947), apontando para elaborações distintivas nas diferentes etapas desse drama. Trata-se de apontar elementos numa formulação híbrida entre os modelos literários e a crítica científico-acadêmica que permitem o questionamento de padrões do discurso humanista enquanto processo de homogeneização discursiva. Num primeiro momento, no painel da literatura alemã novecentista, se perscruta, através do Fausto de Goethe, alguns dos principais pilares de desconfiança em relação a uma razão discursiva ascendente. Em um segundo momento, em plena Segunda Guerra Mundial, através do Dr. Fausto de Thomas Mann, o pacto da Razão estabelece a complexa moldura hermenêutica onde se ensaia o lamento paradoxal da modernidade.
