French term or phrase: contribution
This clause appears in a "terms of use" for a public internet site (sounds a bit like wikipedia) agreement. I assume I could simply use "contribution", but I'm wondering if under the circumstances something like "material" would be more appropriate? Any suggestions?

Here's the clause:

En soumettant une **contribution** à une communauté publique de XXX, vous déclarez et garantissez que vous avez le droit de soumettre cette **contribution**, que cette dernière est exacte, qu'elle n'est pas confidentielle et qu'elle ne viole aucune stipulation contractuelle quelconque ou tout autre droit d'un tiers.

It may be a matter of using a verbal construction rather than seeking to substitute the noun in the original.

I think you're right to consider "material" here as implied by the "confidentielle"

you could also use "offer submission" for the "soumettre contribution" but "material" is preferable imo

It was late night when l looked at this so on a second look I still think using "material" is better than "contribution" on its own. However, you could use "contribute material" rather than "submit material" as in links below:
