Spanish term or phrase: Rasgos del semblante del académico
¡Hola!

Muchas gracias.

The academic's physical features/ expression
Explanation:
I think it refers more to the appearance - for example students may find a subject boring if the think the teacher/lecturer is/looks fuddy-duddy. "Semblante" also has to do with the facial expression or air - perhaps more smiley educators achieve better results?

The title per se of the presentation needs tweaking...

I suggest something along these lines:
"Physical [features or] appearance of academics and effect on teaching and learning. Premises from the student perspective."

A lot of study has been done in students' reactions ... often students comment on professors' physical appearance, race, gender, .... "For example, recent research has questioned if attractiveness correlates with ratings."

characteristics of the instructor's countenance

Explanation:
The countenance should show if the instructor/lecturer/professor is bored, interested, or whatever in the subject and/or students, etc.

agree  Charles Davis: I would go for "facial" rather than "physical". A nice behind is a physical feature (and can be highly motivating) but is not "semblante".
