Notes to answerer
Asker: I don't know whether they are financing it or not... so is there any neutral word I can use?

disagree  Tom in London: "producing" it would mean they are financing it, and I don't think that is what's meant here

-> "It is part of an agreement between a TV show producer and a guest". But anyway, you're nitpicking, Thomas, dear boy.

@Pauley - you bet I'm nitpicking. It's what makes me a good translator. Getting things exactly right. The fact that this is "part of an agreement between a TV show producer and a guest"means that whether of not this producer is financing the whole thing, that is certainly not something that need concern a guest on the show. Hence my disagreement and my own suggestion.

of course, more context would have helped.

agree  Colin Rowe: While I have reservations about your reservations about "producing", "making" is certainly a nice neutral option.

(xxx has the TV show) currently in production

Explanation:
It rather seems like the emphasis could be on the fact that the TV show is "currently in production"

The wiki page below is heavily US oriented. I had always understood that in the TV world the producer was virtually the same as a film director in the UK.

agree  Paul O'Brien: "In television, there are a variety of different producers on a television show. A traditional producer is one who manages a show's budget and maintains a schedule, but this is no longer the case in modern television".
