maintenance airlock Explanation: There seem to be a fair number of ghits, albeit some from sci-fi. pbadupws.nrc.gov/docs/ML1016/ML101600670.pdf "exception to this occurred when a radiation protection specialist performed a ..... to Greater than Allowable Leakage from Maintenance Airlock per Technical ." www.osti.gov/bridge/servlets/purl/915223-4DvYeo/915223.pdf " neutron radiation to ensure that the associated waste is managed appropriately and that ... will be performed in the maintenance airlock." -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2012-04-02 14:28:31 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I'd definitely avoid the word "intervention" in English. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2012-04-02 14:51:36 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Just seen the picture and Liz's comment. If it is decommissioning/dismantling a power plant, then the interventions are not for maintenance either. |

personnel air lock Explanation: or airlock if you prefer. Since the purpose of this particular sas is unclear and it's workers who are passing through it before being checked for contamination (probably in a whole-body monitor), then this might cover all bases. Usually sas à personnel of course. Otherwise check back with client for further info, as FR intervention could refer to servicing, maintenance, repair, etc. and EN intervention definitely won't work. |

intervention lock Explanation: Ex. Therefore, it is proposed that an intervention lock be put into place in front of the cell in order to minimize possible contamination risks. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 3 hrs (2012-04-02 15:59:06 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Or perhaps "intervention chamber" (as you found yourself Sara) -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 4 hrs (2012-04-02 17:13:08 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- But I see that all the native speaker colleagues agree to avoid the word "intervention" in English. So... :-( |
