Mors is Latin for death. From the context, it seems to be a journal entry describing the occurance/circumstance/cause of death?

Mind you that the word mors as a noun can also used among medical personnel to refer to a corpse. Based on this, it could also be a note affixed to the corpse, but it does not sound probable here.
