healthcare worker

Explanation:
I think in this general sense, the idea of 'worker', not as an employee, but as someone working in the field of healthcare.

And for your 'acteurs', I'd say 'people working in the field', for example.

healthcare stakeholders

Explanation:
Not exactly equivalent (that's a problem with "acteurs/players"), but it's probably what I would use in the given context.

Oops, singular was posted (as well it ought to be), so my Answer should have been "healthcare stakeholder."

neutral  writeaway: stakeholder is tossed around a lot in this sort of doc but am no so sure acteur is stakeholder in this case /patients are not stakeholders afaik-but the person who agrees says elsewhere that it includes patients. increases my doubts

-> never "sure," but it seems likely here ;-) // Patients are indeed stakeholders; see http://patients.about.com/b/2009/10/22/patients-the-invisibl... or http://patientsafetyed.duhs.duke.edu/module_a/introduction/s... etc.

neutral  ormiston: it is often a good translation of 'acteur' but I tend to agreee with writeaway

Healthcare participants

Explanation:
The people involved seem to come from different disciplines, i.e. research, public health. To me the word "acteur" in this sense denotes someone
participating in the effort against HIV. The term just strikes the right tone.

agree  rkillings: Probably the best of the suggested answers, but I would go with 'healthcare system participants'. Are not those acted upon (patients) by the 'actors' also participants? Yes, but not systemically.

healthcare expert

Explanation:
I think all the answers could work. In this particular association, the players all seem to be Doctors or Professors, so why not 'expert'

that might be appropriate for the word 'acteur' in the name of the association, then perhaps 'personnel', 'worker' or s'thing else when the 3rd 'action' is described....

Notes to answerer
Asker: Hi Sean Actually, the "acteurs" are doctors but not only so. They also include activists in the field (who are clued up medically but not necessarily experts...). I think the idea is that these individuals are active in the fight against HIV, particularly from a medical standpoint

[1st example: just "healthcare"] [2nd example: "parties involved"] [3rd example: players]

Explanation:
Hello,

I think you need to translate it differently, depending on the sentence.

1st sentence = Francophone Healthcare Alliance Against HIV/AIDS (translate "acteurs de santé" by just "healthcare", as "acteurs" is clearly implied)

différents acteurs de santé = different parties involved
(healthcare-related is clearly implied)

To me, "players" is fine in the 3rd example, though it sounds very awkward AT times).

In all three cases, "professionals" seems to narrow, as does "workers". And "participants" just sounds odd, and quite frankly, meaningless.

I hope this helps.
