English translation: mandatory official assignment of the first job place

Education / Pedagogy /
Russian term or phrase: "Меня отправили работать по распределению".

English translation:mandatory official assignment of the first job place
Explanation:
If you don't like "distribution"...

In Soviet times, this was connected to a "distribution" system, i.e. mandatory official assignment of the first job place for the uni graduate (even from the same city), where the graduate should work for around 2 years "to pay back for the education".

В Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Job_by_distribution) дан термин Job by distribution.

I was seconded.

Explanation:
UK English has a specific term for when a person is "sent" to work somewhere other than his/her regular place of employment: second. It just may be more "efficient/elegant" than a long descriptive sentence.

Example sentence(s):
  • Gazprom seconded Marina to their Murmansk office.

Explanation:
