Corrente è un movimento artistico che si sviluppa a Milano tra il 1938 e il 1943. Corrente raggruppa artisti provenienti da diversi orizzonti culturali, con il comune intento di aprirsi alla cultura moderna europea, ***rifiutando l'isolamento culturale imposto dalla politica fascista***. Corrente nasce infatti da una presa di posizione alternativa nei confronti del dogmatismo formale del Novecento, creando una nuova forma di libertà espressiva ispirata alle linee del post-impressionismo creato da Ensor e Van Gogh, agli espressionisti tedeschi e ai Fauves
