Is it correct to translate 'brigadeiro' , a kind of candy made of chocolate, condensed milk and sugar, to 'fudge balls"?

brigadeiros (Brazilian [chocolate] fudge truffles/balls)
Explanation:
Como já escrevi no comentário, na minha opinião a melhor solução seria deixar o termo no original e adicionar a explicação em parêntesis.
Só "fudge balls" é demasiadamente genérico para servir como tradução.

brigadeiro
Brazilian chocolate bonbon

Explanation:
Hi Suely,

Brigadeiro is made of chocolate, while "fudge" is more like a "doce de leite", made of milk, condensed milk, sugar and butter . As brigadeiro is known worldwide as a typical Brazilian sweet, I would leave it in portuguese. It is often described as a "bonbon", so my suggestion would be a "Brazilian chocolate bonbon, as described at Wikipedia.

brigadeiros

Explanation:
You can't translate "brigadeiro" because it's a typical Brazilian recipe. In some of the following links, the word is followed by a brief explanation such as chocolate truffles, but you should not translate it.

A pergunta não está muito clara: você quer saber se pode traduzir brigadeiro para inglês como "fudge ball" ou se "fudge ball" poderia ser traduzido como brigadeiro?

Example sentence(s):
  • Brigadeiro is a popular, easy-to-make, sweet enjoyed at Brazilian parties.
  • “Brigadeiro” is a typical Brazilian sweet.
