Não entendo muito bem o sentido da expressão e ao traduzir como estou a traduzir, para mim não faz sentido algum.
Antes de ligar a arca congeladora à alimentação eléctrica, deixe-a desligada/imobilizada/na posição vertical/mantenha-a sobre uma superfície estável durante cerca de 2 horas."
Me parece que faz mais sentido a última interpretação: colocar a arca sobre uma superfície estável antes de a ligar.
