Indeed. My document points out that the "homogène" configuration is the safest for critical flight legs like ocean crossings, for example.

Also if you read the French document I posted:

2 candidats : Dans le cas d’un équipage homogène, en fonction de la répartition des tâches de
l’exploitant, il est acceptable de ne contrôler cet exercice qu’une fois pour l’équipage.
Dans ce cas, cette rubrique sera comptabilisée comme contrôlée pour chaque pilote.
Lorsque l'équipage hétérogène est constitué de 2 CDB ou 2 OPL, il faut contrôler cette rubrique pour
chaque candidat PF.

which suggests that the "hétérogène" configuration is not as good. Non?

There may well be an equivalent English term. "Homogeneous" flight crew doesn't seem to be used in English though. We might have been swayed by the explanation that the pilots have the same level of experience (but obviously not the same rank) however this can't be true since the "équipage hétérogène" has 2 pilots of the same rank.
It would be nice to know the exact significance of the terms in French.

I am not sure non-standard would be accepted for the FAI. It definitely has a negative connotation which is not the case here.

In which case the commandant de bord is the captain and the officier pilote de ligne is the first officer.
According to this document:

équipage homogène = captain + first officer (standard configuration) and
équipage hétérogène = 2 captains or 2 first officers (non-standard).
I find no evidence of homogeneous/heterogeneous being used in this context in English.
