Spanish term or phrase: pareja
Another Proz question gives the answer "quantity surveyor", but I'm not sure if that fits in this context.
Any advice please?

Thanks for this. I'm still not 100% convinced it is "pair" simply because it seems rather casual to say "pair" rather than "two", unless they always come as a pair... But a lot of you seem convinced it is simply pair, so I am probably wrong. Thanks :-)

agree  Charles Davis: I think this meaning fits all the examples in the question. I've mostly heard "pareja" for a pair of policemen, but it can be a pair of workers of any kind.

depending on the register"couple" is more informal than "pair". I would also use "two people" if the exact total number or workers is important
