any word, arbitrary word, or random word Explanation: I don't know the full context, so am not 100% sure, but I think it means "any word". Like when setting the parameter, you can set any word of your choice. "フリー” means something like any (as above), arbitrary, or random, I guess. |

full-text search Explanation: フリーワード検索 is a fairly Japanese concept and might not translated into English fully well. If you wish to translate it as it is written, then you could say "free word search", but in essence, it is a parameter of search in which the user can input any words of his/her choice and the database returns the answer from the entire data in it.
