Tech/Engineering - Manufacturing / plant safety
French term or phrase: Remise à disposition
This is from the safety procedures in petroleum storage depots. It refers to making plant and equipment available to be put back into operation following maintenance work. I'm sure there is a concise term for this but have a mental block and can't think of it.

Context:
"La remise à disposition et le redémarrage des installations s’effectue généralement de façon simultanée": (déplatinage, désinhibition, déconsignation, remise en ligne, test de fonctionnement, …).

Though it could include handover (without an "ing"), as in:

"Our involvement in plant upgrade and life extension programmes covers ... to recommissioning and handover; Niche specialist technical support services ..."

Alternatively, hand-back could be included:

"Obtain approval to proceed (particularly important in the case of plant modifications). ... The plan should cover shutdown procedures, plant preparation, hand-over to ... and statutory inspections), hand-back to production and recommissioning."

Restoration (of availability)

Explanation:
Slightly less clunky than "making it available again". Maybe re-establishing, etc. There may be better suggestions....

neutral  Nikki Scott-Despaigne: For "remise à disposition", I'd go for "hand back" and for "redémarrage des installations" I'd go for "recommissionning".//Take your point. Given the two terms of the original, might be an idea to give two for the nuance, altho' not 100%

-> I think that the two procedures are inseparable, and using both terms in English covers both French terms, though the scope of each term in each language differs slightly. Some recommissioning is necessary for r à d & redemarrage is more than switching on
