French term or phrase: cuir lamellé
from the sentence: Talon haut. 14 cm, en cuir lamellé. Its a product description of a leather sandal. In particular the heel of the sandal which, from the photo, looks like it has been trimmed with the same leather as the upper (its not a brilliant photo). Watch this space for more questions about shoe leather as I am currently struggling with two other descriptions!

talon en cuir lamellé
stacked leather heel

Explanation:
It's actually the heel that is lamellé (stacked), so the description would be a stacked leather heel. It's when the heel is made up of several layers. Is this shown on your pic?

Asker: The photo is not very clear - but it does look like exactly the same surface as the upper ... I may have to ask the client as I do see your point - thanks

Leather covered heel

Explanation:
I think it is, as you say, that the heel is covered with the same leather as that from which the shoe is made. In the web link to the Jimmy Choos below, the details say leather covered heel.

Example sentence(s):
  • Leather covered high heel
