Concordo com a Paula sobre o sentido da frase. Mas sinto, pelo contexto dado, que o autor está brincando com a ditada no seu sentido literal. O Cyril embarcou em uma aventura na mata, sem preparo, sem enxergar os perigos presentes.

Claro que a interpretação da frase depende do contexto total, que não temos. Mas esta é uma possibilidade...
