not pringado Explanation: Hi Anna, My thoughts are that pringado is more of a "loser" or "sucker", or one who people take advantage of. A geek in this sense (I think- more context may help me help you) that you are looking for is really sort of a compliment. I'll explain: a geek is usually a person who studies a lot and is very smart yet not sociable. A geek therefore has a negative conotation. But, if you put the words "wise" or "smart" or "funny" in front of the word geek, then you are really enfasizing the person's intelligence and taking emphasis off of the negative connotation. (Although it still is a bit negative to slightly make fun of the person) It's a tough one to translate. I would try to look for a word along these lines. HTH. Allison |

panoli Explanation: hi ann, i missed the last time you posed this question, so i'm not sure whether you are looking for this word in spain. in any case it's quite a teaser as i don't think there is any precise word. the word 'panoli' comes to mind. it is perhaps a little less harsh than pringao, although it doesn't collect the full sense of geek either. |
