English term or phrase: covered government official
Dear all,

I am translating a set of anti-bribery policies.
I have found the term "covered government officials" and in the TM I've received from the client, such term is translated as "funcionarios públicos extranjeros". However, in some instances it appears as "funcionarios públicos amparados por...". I am in doubt.. the term foreign is not in the source term.. and "amparado" seems to be the correct one.. I need your opinion,

Thank you!

Explanation:
