"Course on molecular medicine" is related to name of the department, not the job title. I'm now studying at the department that was named this way previously ("кафедра фармакологии с курсом технологии лекарств"). My department was renamed to "кафедра фармацевтической технологии и фармакологии", so this "course" thing is just a nice way to say it in Russian, I suppose. I'd suggest the following traslation: "department of clinical laboratory diagnostics and molecular medicine".
