Un séminaire doctoral d’accompagnement des thèses: séminaire d’une journée par mois, suivi d’un ***séminaire bloqué*** pendant la première semaine de juillet, ouvert aux post-doctorants. Ce séminaire, intitulé « Constructions des sujets, constructions des activités » joue notamment trois fonctions : mutualisation des démarches de recherche, invitation de chercheurs réputés, invitation de docteurs venant de soutenir leur thèse sur des thématiques proches de celles du laboratoire.

I'm not sure of the best way of translating 'séminaire bloqué'.

IMO the best way to translate this is by "intensive seminar". It basically means that several days are "blocked" (in your diary as it were) in which the seminar takes place.

I saw this for example when doing my MBA. All modules were 21 hours long, and we normally had 3-hour classes, but for one particular module the lecturer came from abroad and we had two full days "blocked" in which we studied that particular module.
