French term or phrase: qui se retranscrit sur LinkedIn ou Facebook
Hi

Here is the sentence:

"Un réseau social c'est d'abord un 'social graph', cette empreinte digitale de nos relations aux autres qui se retranscrit sur LinkedIn ou Facebook."

That comes up on LI or FB?

Thanks!

Thank you Barbara. I'm hesitating between this and "feeds into LinkedIn and Facebook."

agree  Helen Shiner: I think I would prefer 'as mapped out on LinkedIn'./I think the mapping out is important here, since it gives a sense of the interconnecting 'strands' of the network.

-> Thanks Helen. The reason I prefer "mapped onto" is that the snippet of source text provided seems to indicate that the "empreinte digitale" starts out somewhere other than Facebook and LinkedIn, however, it isn't very clear.

Explanation:
There are lots of ways you could translate this - take your pick.

I think 'social graph' might be an instance of a foreigner misusing an English phrase, and I'd be tempted to leave it out. You could say something like:

A social network is essentially a digital footprint of our relationships with others as expressed on LinkedIn or Facebook.
