This is from an article about a company's completion of the various batches of a contract it was awarded. I'm having trouble with "jalon client:"


Conformément au jalon client initial du lot 4, les travaux ont démarré le 1er juin 2011. La fin contractuelle des travaux a quant à elle été prononcée le 8 septembre 2011.

I'm not sure if they mean that the customer wanted batch 4 to be done first, or if they are referring to a benchmark date for batch 4.
