Teresa Borges, se for para Portugal é, ou será indicada em litros, assim sendo, e segundo os seus números teria que ficar "de 113,266 litros a 566,32 litros", e, que eu tenha visto (também não ando a comprar arcas todos os dias :)), nunca vi tais números indicados. São sempre números redondos, por exemplo, 50L, 100L. Caberá ao asker decidir. E, sim, Nick, é uma grande confusão!

If the "literature" is destined for a portuguese speaking market, it would make senses (at the risk of inaccuracy) to convert wouldnt it?
It would be like giving the "cilindrada" of a car in Europe in cubic inches! grande confusão!

Nick, when translating maritime documents I keep the original measure as it is understood worldwide, at least for those concerned. For instance a container is 4' (feet) high, so I translate um contentor com 4' de altura, the ' being the international sign for that specific case. But you do raise a very interesting question

The evolution of weight/volume/length etc is far more organic and complex than the CI unit system which has been almost universally adopted. The Europeans dont understand pints, and the Americans dont understand litres! So WHAT IS A TRANSLATOR TO DO? This is a serious question - Any answers?
