Normally, arroja would be throw/toss/launch. I think in popular usage sometime arrojar (in Latin America) can mean "reveal." Is that what is going on here? How would you handle this?

'arrojar' is certainly used very frequently in Mexico to mean 'results in', 'entails', 'leads to...' etc. The phrasal verb 'throws up' (in terms of an outcome/result) is probably closest to the meaning you are familiar with.
