One Hyde Park is an important addition to London’s rich architectural landscape. The architect’s design was to build four separate but linked pavilions. The architects were eager to maximise the apartment’s views over the park and city and by angling the pavilions into faceted prowl-like forms they ensured that natural light penetrated throughout. The heights of the pavilions were then adjusted to the site’s context rising and falling in harmony with their surroundings adding a contemporary reference to the tradition of Knightsbridge and ensuring the buildings scale was sympathetic to the surrounding architecture.
