German term or phrase: Schadenseinheit
In the Munich Commentaries about the period of limitations:

Schadensersatzansprüche deliktischer, aber auch vertraglicher Art entstehen mit Schadenseintritt. Der Schadenseintritt wiederum bestimmt sich für die Zwecke des Verjährungsrechts bei mehreren Schadensfolgen anhand des Grundsatzes der Schadenseinheit.

What is this Grundsatz der Schadenseinheit? I have found the wikipedia page explaining it (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grundsatz_der_Schadenseinheit) but couldn't find an English equivalent.

Thanks in advance!!

The crucial question relates to the date on which damage claims accrue incases where one injury causes a series of consequential losses. The answer is provided by a concept called “principle of unity of damage” (Prinzip der Schadenseinheit ). In essence, this provides that the claim for compensationof several consequential losses caused by one and the same tortious act accruesat the earliest time of loss. In other words, the first time the victim incurs aloss consequential upon the injury complained of, the claim for compensationof all consequential losses accrues. Provided that the victim recognizes thefirst loss at the time of its manifestation or could have realized it by exercisingminimum care, the limitation period runs from the end of the year in which theearliest loss manifested itself.

agree  Camilla Seifert: Also found: "indivisibility of damage" - in contrast to: Aggregation and divisibility. But have also seen/used "unity of damage" which is perfect. Refer also : www.springerlink.com/content/g6272x67q51wv001/
