I would appreciate if you could advise if the translation i have done for the phrase below is correct.
I am confused because it says the test (which is a Doppler ultrasound) continues in the abdomen but then it mentions the lower limbs, so unless I am translating d'autant que really badly it does not make much sense to me!

Original:
L’examen a été poursuivi au niveau abdominal, d’autant qu’il existe des artères de gros calibre au niveau des membres inférieurs.

Translation:
The study continued in the abdomen particularlysince there are arteries of large diameter in the lower limbs.

("inasmuch" sounds stilted. A physician would not use it.)
The rationale is that abdominal arteries have substantial diameter and flow, and therefore ought to be examined. It does not mean that femoral arteries ought not be examined. (But ordinarily they are not.)
