neutral  FVS (X): I really don't think this is taxes. Am I right in assuming that employers in the US are obliged to make contributions to pension plans, health insurance, etc. in certain circumstances??? Employers must deduct and hando over taxes - this is not a contribut

-> No, employers are required to pay a percentge of the social security tax (6.2%) and medicare tax. Pension plans and health insurance are optional.

agree  patinba: The text being Argentine, it refers to the social security tax paid by the employer. It is described as the employer's contribution to distinguish it from the employees' share of the same tax, which is a deduction, and is also paid in by the employer.
