sorry I shouldn't have used the word 'infiltrative'. I was looking into it further and it seems that they clearly differentiate infiltration into interstitium and spreading along the ducts (i.e. in situ).

What is the whole sentence ?

I am asking this because I think this one is to define what 乳管内進展, ductal/intraductal spread, is. If this is the case it simply means that the cancer cell are multiplying next to each other and spreading (infiltrating) along the ducts, so it is continuous, and NOT like in blood/lymphatic vessels where those cells could dislodge from original location, travel a few distance then multiply, so it's not continuous. If not, then I need to know the whole sentence to before I could be sure.
