since ín the column foreseen for responding to peers´comments there is insufficient space, I should like to point out here that, as I´d mentioned earlier, "donner suite à" would have been a better choice in this context than "faire suite à" which, in view of the following definition, is not quite correct : s´ensuivre, venir après dans le temps et dans l´espace. I think the author wanted to say "Responding to the requests received from two ......., we herewith submit or send ....." in other terms: these requests are complied with. To my thinking "Responding to or complying with" comes up to the same in this context, and it really makes no difference at all whether to use the one or the other. |
