Me parece que esto comunica bien en español, manteniendo el estilo de la frase en inglés. Hay muchos otros términos para "lenguaje no estándar", como "slang", o "colloquial terms", pero el escritor del texto fuente escogió esta manera tan formal de expresarlo. Me parece que lo mejor es seguir este estilo.
