vintage / year Explanation: I think it's just being used metaphorically, so I guess you can go for "vintages" if you don't think it souds too ridiculous or just use the more prosaic "years". the year or place in which wine, especially wine of high quality, was produced:1982 is one of the best vintages of the century -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 8 mins (2011-05-21 14:32:53 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Maybe if you use "vintages", you could throw in some quotation marks! reported under Regulation (EC) No 2223/96 (i.e. annual financial accounts) must be mutually consistent. In theory those statistics are identical, and the data reported should be the same. In practice, differences in compiling institutions, the impact of “rebalancing” mechanisms used for compiling financial accounts and differences in ***“vintages”*** create scope for discrepancies. Owing to these factors, divergences may be observable during the course of the year. |

I.e. what is being said is that whatever financial products they are selling there (should) have a better yield in the 2012-2015 period. If we were talking about commercial paper or bonds with maturities spanning 2012-2015, you would say that these offer the best investment prospect. Thus the non-financial añada term... |
