drying phase Explanation: Drying is a mass transfer process consisting of the removal of water or another solute [1] by evaporation from a solid, semi-solid or liquid. The solute to be removed is almost always water, especially so in bioproducts like food, grains, and pharmaceuticals like vaccines. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drying |

drying off Explanation: Acredito que a "secagem" aqui se refere ao momento em que a vaca leiteira reduz a produção de leite e não se deve mais tirar leite dela. A úbere dela vai secar. Em inglês, este processo se chama "drying off". O link abaixo é de um site que fala sobre este processo. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2011-05-13 03:24:31 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- "o período em que ocorre a secagem do leite, encerrando-se a lactação atual e o início da preparação para o próximo parto e lactação subseqüente." http://sistemasdeproducao.cnptia.embrapa.br/FontesHTML/Leite...
