Tech/Engineering - Electronics / Elect Eng / worksite installation
French term or phrase: base-vie sur portique
The 'base-vie' for a worksite will be built as follows:

Un ensemble de bungalows sera installée sur un portique au-dessus de la rue dégageant un passage libre minimum de 5,00m. Ils seront empilés sur 3 niveaux d’environ 310m², soit 930m² au total. L’accès au portique se fera à chaque extrémité par un escalier hélicoïdal depuis le trottoir existant.

From then on it is referred to as base-vie sur portique.

Thanks.

(the client requires that 'base-vie' be translated as 'worksite offices').

worksite offices on gantry
Explanation:
Some kind of 'bridge', I guess, over the street, but I think 'gantry' is more suitable here.

Personally, having once established at the outset that the worksite offices are perched up there on the gantry, I don't think I would keep on mentioning it — unless, of course, there are other offices not on a gantry!

I suppose one might (at least once) say 'overhead gantry', though I suspect that's something of a pleonasm!

agree  chris collister: Why not "gantry"? That's what it is, after all, a collection of Portakabins over the road.

agree  Bourth (X): But in this case, being over a road, not merely for stacking up containers from ground level, "gantry" would be appropriate.

worksite offices on a gantry

Explanation:
A gantry can be "A temporary raised platform for supporting and handling heavy materials; e.g. a structure erected over the pavement alongside a building under construction ...". Scott

Though a gantry is usually associated with rails for moving things along, that is not always the case.
