Spanish term or phrase: Aunque se acepta que la somatización presenta una prevalencia similar
I was going to say;...somatisation is common among all cultures, but I think it fails to highlight 'una prevalencia similar', which seems to be saying something along the lines of ; the rate of occurence is similar throughout all cultures?

Any suggestions?

agree  Otto Albers (X): I would say that prevalent here means widespread or simply spread. "....somatization is evenly widespread among........"

Although it is accepted that there is a similar prevalence rate of somatization, ....

Explanation:
I disagree that "prevalencia" would be an indication of verbosity. In the medical field, "prevalence" is widely used to explain "The proportion of individuals in a population having a disease. Prevalence is a statistical concept referring to the number of cases of a disease that are present in a particular population at a given time." It is a rate, or mathematical equation.

Explanation:
I'd leave out the "it is accepted" phrase from the text, because an overly literal translation here just perpetuates the problem of verbosity found in the original text. HTH.

although admittedly the prevalence of somatization is similar

Explanation:
It would help to see the rest of the sentence - where your author is going with this assumption.

Also, 'prevalence' is a technical term in epidemiology and public health, which lends a level of seriousness to the statement. For this reason, if for no other, I think it's important not to confuse 'similar' with 'same'.
