data confidentiality (neoligism) Explanation: Grand Robert doesn't list "confidatialité" or anything similar. However, there are a number of google hits, including this one from a Canadian university: "Permettre l'affichage des pages HTML (web) et des images dans les courriers : "Dans le menu OUTILS->CENTRE DE GESTION DE LA CONFIDATIALITÉ... ..." forum.verygames.net/showthread.php?13419-Cookies... This makes me suspect that it is an IT neologism for data confidentiality. Quite clever really, so likely to make it into the dictionaries soon. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 30 mins (2011-02-09 11:46:08 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- In fact, I get 140 google hits. All of those I have read seem to involve data confidentiality in an IT context and so support the above interpretation. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 31 mins (2011-02-09 11:47:08 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Just noticed the embarrassing typo! That should, of course, have been "neologism"! |
