Explanation:
I think that this is more in the harissa/aoili/anchovy paste area – you add it to flavour a potful, not to serve as a pasta sauce. (It's also the smallest jar of all the different kinds of pesto and sauce there, which supports this theory.)

Judging by the picture, it looks potent, oily, and fiery, and is clearly not creamy.

  -> I disagree – if you look in the supermarket, all chilli paste has oil, vinegar, and often other seasonings too – otherwise it wouldn't keep, nor would it blend well.

Hot Chili Sauce


Explanation:
Everything depends from its concentration - "ottimo per insaporire condimenti vari". If one trusts this description, it means that it's not designed to be eaten straight off the spoon or spread unless you've an asphalt tongue.
It shouldn't be a "cream", a "dip", a "spread". "Paté" is used in Sicily to describe olive pastes, but I guess that abroad paté means something with animal fats inside.

In my region people use to make this sauce with fresh peppers and olive oil, and put it directly on dishes or dissolve it in another fluid. But I repeat, concentration is the key. And the name "fior di" is ambiguous as well, it could mean "very delicate" or "very concentrated".

As Aioli, for example, is commonly referred to as a "sauce", I would choose "sauce" for it. "Hot Chili sauce" is the most harmless solution, IMHO.
