Real Estate / Rural Land Inventory Project
Spanish term or phrase: predio
Here, I'm really looking for precision - since I know that this *could* be: land, piece of land, plot, lot, property etc.
Plenty of options but which is the most accurate, please?
In the absence of any convincing answer to the contrary, I'm sticking with "property".

Property
Explanation:
Since you have the phrase predios rurales the correct translation would be rural properties. This term would fall under the category: law. If it was just predio than it would mean an estate.

Thanks everyone for your help. I've mostly used "property" but sometimes if the context is right, I've used "pieces of land"

Explanation:
These are all valid terms. It just means land.

Para matizar, it usually used in a rural context.

I think in you context property would do just fine, as you suggest.

Reference: A word about estate.

Reference information:
I associate the word *estate* alone, when dealing with land, with luxury. I imagine a mansion with a butler and lots of horses and an overseer.

disagree  AllegroTrans: "estate" is a legal word relating to real estate; luxury is irrelevant// "freehold" is a legal "estate" in land www.kosmix.com/topic/Estate_in_land

Reference

Reference information:
According to the Chilean "Ordenanza General de Urbanismo y Construcciones" Predio is defined as:

But not necessarily rural as expressed in another legal document:

So we can have:

predios urbanos
predios rústicos
Predio Remanente Aislado
predio densificado
predio agrícola

Although one usually think of predio as something rural and even agricultural in government it's considered just property in general, with or without buildings.
