self-contracting / self contracting Explanation: I had this a fair while back in a translation, and self contracting was the term given in the reference. Sometimes slight variations in the terminology do occur, but they are still referring to the same thing. Translated literally, it would refer to the same situation. I agree that more context would be helpful. Self contracting gives a lot of google hits in the context of construction, particularly constructing one's own home. |

-------------------------------------------------- Note added at 13 hrs (2010-12-15 03:56:08 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- The conduct of a trustee, an attorney, or other fiduciary that consists of taking advantage of his or her position in a transaction and acting for his or her own interests rather than for the interests of the beneficiaries of the trust or the interests of his or her clients. http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/Self-Dealing -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 13 hrs (2010-12-15 04:00:25 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- A self-dealing transaction exists where the following elements occur: (1) there is a transaction between the referent corporation (corporation or shareholders whose interest may be prejudiced) and some person; (2) a certain individual (either a director, officer, or controlling shareholder, or group of them) has decision-making influence with respect to actions taken by the referent corporation; and (3) this influential individual or group has a greater personal interest in the welfare of the other person involved in the transaction, or in certain collateral consequences of the transaction, than in the welfare of the referent corporation. http://www.columbia.edu/cu/asiaweb/v11n2Roman.htm |
